Team Paranoia was formed in 1974 by Alan Loten, a car mechanic, and Brian Thomas, a welder and fabricator. Their first car, Paranoia 1, was built on a Jago based chassis with Triumph Herald front suspension and a 3.8 litre Jaguar engine, gearbox and rear axle beneath a fibreglass Model T body, first appearing in 1975.
