Lake Apopka is finally showing some signs of life after being toxic for decades. Field Sutton WFTV found out the state has poured $185 million dollars into the lake and he's asking how much more it will take to restore one of the state’s largest lakes. Here's something FREE to do on Spring Break, and it's totally fun. Have you ever journeyed on the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive? It's an 11-mile one way road through 20,000 acres of REAL Florida. Car entrance is on Lust Road in Apopka. You'll see lots of alligators, otters, bunnies, and more than 350 species of birds. It takes about two hours to complete, and it's open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Bikers and hikers are welcome everyday of the week. Dogs on leashes are allowed too! As seen on

The Lake Opeka Shoreline Restoration Project is nearly complete, (except for a few minor details). This renovation has improved not only the aesthics of the park, but the health of the lake and surrounding area. We look forward to seeing this beautiful lake enjoyed by the community for years to come.
