In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, efforts to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom were well on their way. By 2021, a recall ballot was delivered to the citizens of California to determine if Newsom would remain in office for the remainder of his term or if a new governor would succeed him. In the end, Newsom not only succeeded in remaining in office, but was also reelected the year after in 2022 to serve another term. This was the second time in California’s history for there to be a guber
