According to Dabo Swinney, Cade Klubnik has returned to practice and done everything the coaching staff has asked.
After being ranked the No. 4 preseason team in college football in August, the Clemson Tigers' head coach believes that the team bought into the outside noise.
The Clemson Tigers have reportedly decided on head coach Dabo Swinney's future amid a disappointing 3-4 start.
Late Tuesday morning Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney addressed members of the media at his weekly news conference, this time to reflect back on an open date and extra preparation for Saturday’s opponent – Duke.
Swinney offered encouraging injury updates on offensive lineman Collin Sadler and wide receiver Bryant Wesco. Sadler, who had started all seven games at left guard for the Tigers, was carted off the field during their loss to SMU in an air-cast.
Clemson has been the most transfer portal-averse program in the FBS outside of the service academies. Swinney did add a trio of transfers to the 2025 roster, including former Purdue defensive end Will Heldt, who currently leads the team in sacks. It’s the most Swinney has brought on in a single offseason, and a nod to an evolving philosophy.
Before turning to November, season-long expectations have not been met by Clemson. Many predicted the Tigers to not only make the College Football Playoff but win the national championship as well. Sitting at 3-4 through seven games likely is not what Dabo Swinney expected at this stage.
