Tropical Storm Sara made its second landfall in Belize on Sunday morning, and forecasters say it should continue to move inland and dissipate as it produces torrential rain leading to catastrophic flooding.

Sara was forecast to drop 10 to 20 inches of rain, with up to 30 inches in isolated areas in northern Honduras. In a 7 a.m. Eastern update, the hurricane center said "heavy rain, life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides" were possible through the weekend in Central America.

Tropical Storm Sara is dumping heavy rains over portions of Belize and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, as it continues tracking west, the National Hurricane Center said.
