Variety and THR are reporting that a two-day special event showing of the animated hit pulled in $18 to $20 million from 1,700 theaters in North America this weekend. Rival studios on Sunday estimated that the Netflix film, “KPop Demon Hunters” led all films in the box office this weekend with $16-18 million in ticket sales.
