The Manipur government has requested the Centre to review and withdraw Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act from areas falling under the jurisdiction of six police stations in the state.

A complete curfew has been imposed in parts of India's restive state of Manipur after protesters stormed residents of state leaders following the alleged killing of a family of six i n the latest incident of escalation of the conflict between ethnic groups.

Authorities in the northeastern Indian state of Manipur suspended internet and mobile services and imposed an indefinite curfew on Saturday in areas where protesters were besieging politicians' homes over deadly inter-ethnic violence.
