After a long period of dry weather, thunderstorms have returned to parts of Southeast Texas Tuesday. While it isn’t a widespread rain event, some areas are seeing some isolated thunderstorms dropping heavy rainfall and producing lightning.

A suspect was taken into custody after injuring another person in a shooting in southeast Houston. The incident happened at 11:41 a.m. Monday morning in the 2600 block of McGowen Street. Officers with METRO Police Department quickly responded to reports of shots being fired. They apprehended and arrested the suspect without further violence.
