Texas hopes to elect five more Republicans to Congress, while California would like five more Democrats.
Updated on Jan. 22 at 5:05 p.m. In December, the Supreme Court allowed Texas to use a new congressional map enacted to give Republicans five additional seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, blocking a lower court’s ruling that the map unconstitutionally sorted voters based on race.
The open all-party primary will be held on June 2.
