CHICAGO -- Jonathan Toews kept taking spins around center ice. Even when the former Chicago Blackhawks captain thought he had gotten more than enough applause from United Center fans in his return to Chicago, the fans disagreed and kept cheering for him to bask in the moment.

Jonathan Toews became Blackhawks captain at 20. Connor Bedard might follow in his footsteps at much the same age.

Toews, who returned to Chicago on Monday for the first time as a Jet, built a bridge between the Hawks and their fan base that still exists today.

Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar practiced with the team Sunday and could return as soon as Thursday at Carolina.
