US wholesale inflation increased in December by more than forecast, reflecting higher costs for services. The producer price index rose 0.5% after a 0.2% gain in the prior month, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data out Friday. Excluding food and energy, the PPI jumped 0.7%.
