The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical wave in the central Atlantic which is moving quickly toward the Caribbean. There also is a non-tropical system over the northwestern Atlantic — well away from Florida — that may develop into a tropical or subtropical storm over the next several days, according to AccuWeather.
TONIGHT: I'm tracking showers and storms lasting through the rest of the evening before exiting overnight. Temperatures will drop into the upper 40s as winds blow out of the northwest at 15-18 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
We are continuing to track a tropical wave that is now highlighted by the (NHC) for potential development in the Caribbean.
Will it rain today? Atlantic hurricane season is June 1 to Nov. 30, 2025, with most tropical storm activity between August and October in Florida.
The Met Office has launched radiation sensors strapped to a weather balloon to go more than 100,000ft (30,480m) above its site in Cornwall to improve forecasts. The monitor launched at Camborne is one of two sent up above the UK - with another going from Lerwick in Shetland.
NEW WAVE TO WATCH The National Hurricane Center is now watching two areas in the tropics for potential development. Here's where:
TONIGHT: I'm tracking scattered showers and storms picking up after sunset for areas near Macon and Moberly. This activity will slowly move south overnight, making it to areas like Columbia and Jefferson City after midnight as temperatures drop into the low 60s.
Sunday looks much better as a couple early showers will give way to partly cloudy skies and lower humidity. In fact Sunday night looks like one of the coolest of the Fall so far with lows that will drop into the 50’s even down to the I-10 corridor! It may be sweater weather briefly out the door Monday.
REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND: As the front clears the state Sunday, a few wrap-around showers are possible through mid-afternoon. The sky will gradually clear, and cooler air will rush in. Expect temperatures in the 70s and a breezy day ahead.
