Construction started this week on the $250 million ballroom that President Donald Trump is adding to the White House as construction crews began tearing down the facade of the East Wing, where the new space is being built.

Large construction equipment was seen picking apart the facade of the building, a part of the White House complex that has housed the first lady's offices, a theater, and a visitor's entrance that welcomes foreign dignitaries.

President Trump commented on the sounds of his latest White House renovation as workers began demolishing part of the East Wing for his new ballroom.

The president had claimed construction of the $250 million ballroom wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure.

The first lady's office and several other offices will be demolished as a part of the project to add a massive new ballroom.
