Fire officials said two dogs were killed in the fire that destroyed a home on Smith Hill Road.

Two dogs are believed to have died in a fire in Franklin around 10:30 a.m. Friday, fire officials said. Initial reports on the dispatch indicated the family was home and working to thaw frozen pipes.
