INYO COUNTY, CA - A preliminary 3.1 magnitude quake was reported close to Coso Junction Saturday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck near the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka region.
The United States Geological Survey confirmed a 3.1 magnitude earthquake took place near Minco, Oklahoma Thursday afternoon.
The Kamchatka Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Geophysical Service confirmed that report, and said seismologists recorded a tremor measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale, located 93 kilometers (58 miles) from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 123 kilometers.
