A piece of energy will spark a few showers and weaker thunderstorms over Northeast Colorado into Northwest Kansas this evening. Instability is low but a storm or two may try to pop down some hail.

Toasty temps, dry conditions, and strong winds have created critical fire weather concerns for southwest Kansas. Highs this afternoon reached the 70s and 80s with a strong breeze out of the southwest.
