India-bound tanker carrying Russian crude U-turns in Baltic Sea
An Indian tanker carrying Russian crude oil has turned back in the Baltic Sea, indicating major disruptions in the oil trade between India and Russia following recent US sanctions on Moscow's oil giants.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's long-range strikes on Russian refineries have reduced oil refinery capacity by 20%.
The United States imposed sanctions on Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil on October 22, followed by the European Union, which completely banned transactions with both companies the next day.
