The cable news channel is getting a new name and dropping NBC's peacock logo as part of a spinoff from NBC Universal.
This update also involves a new logo, sans NBCU’s signature peacock, in order to distinguish itself from NBCU. While CNBC—which stands for Consumer News and Business Channel—will keep its name, the network will also take on a new logo without the peacock.
Left-leaning cable channel MSNBC was derided on Monday for the worst rebrand since New Coke after announcing a name change to MS NOW.
