ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan football may have named its starting quarterback on Sunday, but in reality the battle was wrapped up weeks ago. Bryce Underwood, the five-star freshman and No. 1-ranked recruit in the county, had the Wolverines’ coaching staff buzzing at the mid-way point of training camp.

Michigan Wolverines quarterback Bryce Underwood joined some elite company as he was announced as the starter for the season by head coach Sherrone Moore.

Bryce Underwood has been named the starting quarterback for No. 14 Michigan. Coach Sherrone Moore made the long-expected announcement on Monday at his weekly news conference. Underwood was the nation's top-ranked recruit last year and his father told The Wall Street Journal that the freshman is expected to make more than $15 million over the next three seasons.
