More than 100,000 homes and businesses in the Houston area lost electricity early Saturday morning as the region was struck by strong overnight thunderstorms. Another wave of rainfall was in the forecast for later Saturday, starting in the afternoon, along with wind gusts of up to 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

ANDERSON, Texas - The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Grimes County overnight. The NWS reported that an EF-0 touched down near Anderson, Texas, at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, during the first round of severe storms for southeast Texas.
