Pro Football Focus released its Week 8 grades, and Caleb Williams once again struggled to find rhythm in the Bears’ offense.
The red zone is taking a heavy toll on the Chicago Bears' offense and quarterback Caleb Williams in Ben Johnson’s first season as coach. It’s not the only issue facing the Bears, but it has Johnson searching for answers after watching his team fail to score touchdowns on two of three trips inside the 20-yard line in a 30-16 loss Sunday at Baltimore.
A day full of struggle left the Chicago Bears offense with a sobering reality check. Their rut may be deeper than they realized.
Williams’ evaluation of the interception was different than that of coach Ben Johnson, which was appropriate, given how out of sorts the Bears’ offense looked against the worst defense in the league.
As for the Bears, this offense struggled to finish drives. Caleb Williams completed 25 of 38 passes for 285 yards and one interception, while D'Andre Swift was held to 45 rushing yards and Chicago's lone touchdown on 11 carries.
The Chicago Bears are facing a difficult trade reality when it comes to one of their top weapons ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
